Swamp Buggy

The Swamp Buggy is an amphibious vehicle used navigate the swamps in the southern states such as Florida, Louisiana, and parts of Texas.

Invented by Ed Frank, in Naples, Florida, the swamp buggy proved valuable during early development of the Everglades in the 1930s and 1940s.

The original Swamp Buggy, known as "Tumble Bug", was a tall, ungainly and strange looking vehicle, riding on huge balloon tires, which could be used for everything from hunting expeditions deep into the Everglades to Sunday afternoon outings.

The Swamp Buggy has evolved tremendously from it's roots and doesn't hardly resembles it's predecessor when it comes to competitive racing.

Swamp Buggy have gained much popularity and are raced competitively.  Below are some of them in action.  If you are ever able to ride or drive one, it is sure to be an experience not soon to be forgotten!
